| A beautiful and very rare find is this gorgeous radio designed by Walter Dorwin Teague for the Sparks Worthington Co. of Jackson, Michigan. Because of its shape it became known as "The Sleigh" and is considered to be one of the best examples of Art Deco design in the radio world. The beautiful Cobalt Blue mirrors offset by the chrome bands and black background; it's truly eye catching. There are no cracks in the glass, it is all original. The radio has been electronically restored; all tubes checked and those that were weak or bad were replaced with new or test like new, all old paper capacitors have been replaced with new modern longer lasting ones, the electrolytics which always cause a hum in older radios have also been replaced. It is a beautiful radio and sounds just as beautiful. 16-1/2"W x 9"H x 8-1/2"D. |
