Philco 70L Lowboy (1931)
(wood tube console radio)

Philco 70L Lowboy (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

BC. This is the lowboy version of the popular Philco 70 so often seen in cathedrals. The handsome cabinet features Walnut, Mahogany and poplar veneers and detailed flutes and trim. I have just completed a detailed restoration of the chassis which includes re-stuffing of all the capacitor blocks and boxes, and has the original filter capacitors still intact (electrically disconnected). Knobs are original and grille cloth is correct replacement. Many Philco 70's have been sold here but never a lowboy as they are quite scarce now, after decades of having their speakers pilfered and other parts used to restore the more popular cathedrals. This set is a survivor! Fully restored, warranted, and working. 40"H x 24"W x 11"D.
