Zenith 12-U-159 Console (1937)
(wood tube console radio w/SW)

Zenith 12-U-159 Console (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

In 1937 if you wanted the best that Zenith offered and couldn't afford a Stratosphere then this was the radio to have. No expense was spared in the detail and workmanship of this cabinet or radio. This twelve-tube, four-band radio was one step below the Stratosphere. It has five audio tubes including two 6L6 power tubes for push-pull Class A audio driving a 12-inch speaker and very rare Zenith Tweeter with 17 watts of power. It sounds amazing! This large dial on the 12-U-159 is the largest dial that Zenith made. It lights up in color when turned on. I have completely restored the chassis, replacing all the capacitors and any resistors and tubes as needed, and then aligned (I have been restoring antique radios for 30 years). The cabinet has been restored as well and looks fantastic. This gorgeous radio has three kinds of book-matched Walnut with three strips of inlay. This radio can be be professionally packed to arrive at your location in perfect condition. Please ask for a shipping quote. I will also hold for pick up or offer personal delivery depending on your location. An audio input can be added at no extra charge to listen your phone or any audio device. Offers accepted. 44"H x 26"W x 15"D.
