Philco 48-225 (1948)
(plastic tube table radio)

Philco 48-225 (1948)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Maroon and very, very shiny! A far cry from Bakelite, this '48 Transitone from Philco is made of Polystyrene and, extremely susceptible to scratches. I've worked many hours bringing this beauty to its present state (10+)! I am very proud of it! There is minimal wear considering its delicate nature, but superficial surface scratches do not distract from its incredible design. There were only 38k of these made from mid-'47 through '48. Yes, it's been electronically restored and plays very well! All five tubes are in good shape, too! A beautiful color! It has a new back, too! If you'd like additional pics please let me know. 10-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 5-3/4"D.
