Powell Midget Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Powell Midget Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a rare find for you Los Angeles radio collectors. The cabinet has been restored and refinished to original appearance. The electrics have been minimally restored because of the historic importance of this radio. New filter caps have bypassed the old ones, a new cloth covered AC cord has been installed, and a 1.5 amp pigtail fuse inserted for safety and protection of the circuit. That's it! The radio retains its original wafer caps, metal clad resistors, transformer and field coil speaker. Despite this, it performs well up and down the dial, with some howling and distortion as befitting an old TRF with easily overloaded screen grid tubes.
