Telefunken Opus 6, US Version (1956)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is a top of the line Opus 6, long regarded as the best sounding Opus produced. Bands are AM 520-1600, FM 88-108, SW 16-49m and Special 350-150 Kc and plays strong on all bands. There are no less than six speakers, two 9" Alnico woofers, two 4" midrange and two 3" electrostatic tweeters. There are nine tubes including dual Telefunken EL84's and a bright new magic eye. It also features a rotating internal AM antenna, broadband tuning for SW plus Bass and Treble tone controls and a noise filter. There are inputs for Phono, Tape or any high level output device such as CD, MP3, iPod® etc. There are also inputs for extension speaker and external antenna. The cabinet has very little wear with light varnish thinning on top and light grazing, but these models are all about the excellent tube sound. The grille cloth and back cover are both excellent. The original schematic is still sealed in its original envelope. A copy of the owners manual in English is also included. More pictures available upon request. 40 pounds unpacked; 25"W x 16"H x 10-1/2"D.
