THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Novelty transistor AM radio that was a Japanese attempt to market a "groovy" product during the hippy Woodstock era over here. Several companies made medallion-style radios in the late 1960s; Hitachi's version gets good reception and good volume with a 9V battery (not included). Nice attention to details with the Peter Max-Beatles inspired "Love" apple, ribbed middle casing, bright chrome-style thumbwheels, heart/Lucite dial pointer, styled numbering and original lavender lanyard. Condition is excellent with a few minor usage marks and some color fading on the lower part of the back, there is an earphone jack on the lower left side. A little under 4-1/2" tall. |
