Philco KR5
(wood tube table radio)

Philco KR5

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This Philco clock radio was made for the 1950's mid-century kitchen and designed to sit on top of the then fashionable rounded refrigerators, including those made by Philco; one picture shows the curved bottom of the clock radio cut to the contour of the fridge's top. Philco also made a smaller radio-only version; the clock radio is harder to find, especially in this good of condition. This has been restored inside and out. All caps were changed on the radio, all tubes tested and replaced as necessary, some wiring replaced, new safety cord installed. The radio has had a full alignment and plays with good sound and sensitive tuning/channel selection. The clock was cleaned and lubricated, the second hand takes a few seconds to work as does the radio but does keep good time. The wood case is sound with no damage and was redone with a close-to-original Navajo white. The dial covers and faces are very attractive and in great shape with original bottom labels intact. The knobs are original and a homemade back cover has been made using an outline from an authentic back that will be furnished to keep the dust out. Price includes everything.
