Jesse French & Son Junior Cathedral (1930)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Jesse French & Son Junior Cathedral (1930)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

It is with great pride for me to offer such a scarce and prized radio for sale. The Jesse French & Son Company was a small family owned maker of super high-end pianos. This Indiana maker used the finest woods and artistry to make the finest pianos available. They contracted the manufacture of the chasses to Loftin-White, a company of similar profile. The radio is one of the earliest "Grand Cathedral" radios, and is a great example of the TRF circuitry period. Note, the on and off switch on the side of the set, as this radio predating the inclusion with the volume control, which came into use in 1931. The radio is in terrific condition and plays extremely well for an early AC set. My technician has done a special restoration of the electronics and the radio should not require any service for decades. His work included replacing all of the filters and caps. The tubes are like new, he finished his work with a fine silk and cotton power cord and new Bakelite plug for your safe operation. The radio is a large set at 10"H x 16"W x 11"D.
