(x tube table radio)

Aetna 605 (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Aetna Radios were the house brand for the Walgreen drugstore chain in the 1930s. Walgreen, like many of the major retailers, contracted their models from a large pool of nationally recognizable makers. This particular radio most likely made for them by Detrola Radio, which made a highly similar model in their own line. The radio is nothing less than first class. The woodworking of the cabinet, in original finish is deluxe. I believe the woods are walnut and mahogany. The internals reveal a fine and highly selective multiband receiver, with the dial changing as you switch the bands. This set has impressive looks and the sound to match. My technician has done a terrific restoration, replacing all of the old filters and caps. The balance of the components has been tested for factory correct values and as always, there is a fresh power cord and plug for your safe operation. 14-1/2"W x 12"H x 9"D.
