(x tube tombstone radio)

Zenith 6-S-229 Tombstone (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Those of you who regularly shop my pages here on the Attic have heard me sing the praises of these all-American favorites. These sets represented the very best of the middle to better end of the radio world circa 1938. The styling with the super 6-1/2" black dial and very reliable super-het chassis made them a true workhorse performer. The photo finish covering the cabinet is in the very decent condition. The top has been repainted to match the original color, and shows a bit of wear. My technician, who is a life-long Zenith collector, has done the spectacular restoration, as you would expect. The work includes a total replacement of the filters and caps. The radio other components have been checked for the proper values and a new line cord and plug for your safe operation. After the completed restoration you will be able to enjoy this radio for years of trouble free service. 18"H x 13-1/2"W x 11"D.
