THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
I can think of no better and powerful table radio than this one. The Midwest Radio Company was a better maker of radios, and sold directly to the consumer by mail. The company was known for high tube counts and unusual and ornate styling. This is a great example of a SIXTEEN-tube table radio. It is a four-band receiver and has been completely restored by my technician. The radio has all new filters and caps, as well as a new power cord and plug. The green tuning eye is very bright, opens and closes as it was intended to do. Bakelite push buttons work well and offer you the ability to pre-set your favorite stations. Every function performs as intended. The radio has all the qualities of a high tube-count console radio and a tremendous sound from a tabletop set. There is one minor split on the top, which is hardly noticeable. This radio has a huge 6"x 9" speaker contained in a set that measures 28-1/2"W x 12H x 10-1/2"D. |
