(wood tube tombstone radio)

Stewart-Warner R-1262 "The Stuart" Tombstone (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

You are looking at the very top of the line and most sought after Stewart Warner tombstone. This majestic set measures 19-1/2"H x 14-1/2"W x 12"D. The radio is a seven-tube receiver and offers four-band selection. Of course, the Police and aviation bands are vacant, as over the 76 years since this model left the factory, the bands were changed. The radio retains the original finish in remarkable condition, with the factory speaker cloth and knobs. You can clearly see the impressive use of exotic veneers and the extremely fine condition. The black painted top has been repainted somewhere in the radio's past. My technician has done an exceedingly through job of the electronic restoration. The filters and caps are completely replaced, along with the complete check of every other electric component. The power cord is a new reproduction silk cord with a new plug, for your safe operation. Truly, an investment grade set in both rarity and condition.
