DeForest Crosley "Drake" (1932)
(wood tube table radio)

DeForest Crosley "Drake" (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

It is with great pride I offer this spectacular example of one of the finest radios ever made. Handcrafted with fine hand laid beading of Canadian Mahogany, this example is with the factory finish. The radio is so ornate, they installed the radio on large ball feet to accent the overall ornate design. The radio is an extremely large and heavy radio. The Canadian government required a much higher caliber of electronics in this era than their American counterparts, and I have been a fan of their sets ever since. Since Canada was a large country with a small population, much smaller numbers of their radios were produced. The transformer on this particular radio must weigh fifteen pounds alone. The radio is very complete, and a five tube chassis. The radio has been repaired to "like new" performance by my technician and plays loud and clear across the AM band. As large and heavy as this radio is, please note the shipping will be higher than most. Soon to be the focal point of your collection display! 20"W x 18"H x 10-1/2"D.
