Radio-Chron C2 Cathedral (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Radio-Chron C2 Cathedral (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a very scarce and unusual radio. Made in Los Angeles, California by the Claga Radio Company, these were intended to be very fancy sets. The radio is a shouldered cathedral, with heavily turned pillars on all four corners. Even more interesting is the very interesting use of birds-eye maple on the front of the radio. The radio is a very decorative statement and has a fine refinished cabinet. Contained inside is a sophisticated and early super-het employing six tubes. Note the tilted speaker (photo 5), giving the radio even a larger sound. The speaker cloth and knobs are factory originals and my technician replaced the factory original power cord with a fine and new silk reproduction power cord and Bakelite plug. His repairs were outstanding and the radio performs like new. This impressive and scarce radio is the first example of this radio offered on "the Attic" in over a decade, as most west coast produced radios were regional in distribution and made in limited numbers. 21"H x 16-1/4"W x 11"D.
