Airline 61-277 "Movie Dial" (1937)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Airline 61-277 "Movie Dial" (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This a remarkable radio. Made by the famed Chicago based Wells-Gardner on their signature chrome chassis and sold countrywide by Montgomery Wards. These were deluxe receivers, using six tubes and playing Broadcast and Shortwave. Note the interesting dial which, like a movie projector, would display by projection the highly detailed stationized tuning dial. The radio has a brand new extremely bright tuning eye which displays a very high level of sensitivity. The chrome chassis is in great condition, still a bit dirty, from the decades of use since it left the factory, but the chrome is tight with no rust nor pitting. Seldom do you find such a fine all original example, with a extremely fine factory finish, and nice speaker cloth and the correct factory installed knobs... amazing! My technician has done a stellar job in his repairs. This is a particularly "hot" playing radio and the sound from a large set is outstanding. If you are the purest collector, who prizes the best original examples in unusually factory condition, this radio is a perfect choice. 21-1/2"W x 12-1/2"H x 10"D.
