Lyric S-22 Tombstone by Wurlitzer (1932)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Lyric S-22 Tombstone by Wurlitzer (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Clearly this is one of the most outstanding sets of this era. Made by Wurlitzer under the Lyric Radio name, this radio shows the extreme design that made this company famous. These were seldom seen domestically and were most often exported both in 110 volts and 220 volts. This example is the domestic model, and a beautiful example. The finish is factory and the knobs, with the speaker cloth being a highly accurate reproduction. Contained in this futuristic cabinet is a very good five-tube super-het. Note the toggle switch on the side, which is a distant and local switch. This early super-het was repaired to perform as new by my technician. He replaced the dried filters and replaced the other caps as needed. The radio plays beautifully on the AM band only. Note the very large eight-inch Rola speaker inside, which offers a roomful of sound. We added a fine silk reproduction power cord and plug for your safe use. The radio is trapezoid shaped; 18-1/4"H x 15-1/2"W x 11"D.
