THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Lafayette was a catalog seller of high-end radios based in Chicago. They contracted some of the finest factories to produce radios for them under the Lafayette name. The radio before you was made by Ozarka (North American Mohawk) using dramatic embellishments crafted from rep-wood. The radio has the factory installed speaker cloth, original finish and heavily sculptured knobs. Ozarka was the holy grail maker and limited in numbers. The condition is fantastic showing a tiny amount of wear from the decades of use. The radio contained is a seven-tube model, and is an early super-het. The radio was designed as a triple band radio, playing today on both Broadcast and Shortwave. Les has made his meticulous repairs and the radio plays like the deluxe receiver it was designed to do. This is a very rare and connoisseur level set. 19-1/2"H x 15-1/2"W x 10-1/2"D. |
