General Electric J-72 cathedral (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

General Electric J-72 cathedral (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a model that must be scarce. I don't remember ever seeing this model before and clearly it was a top of the line classic "grand cathedral." The radio is dramatic and rather unique with the decorative speaker grille opening. The radio must have seen some repair before I stumbled upon it, as there was a repair on the right side (see photo). The work is excellent, as I didn't notice it until I detailed the radio for the pictures. The speaker cloth might be a replacement, but is in excellent condition and period correct. The wooden floral knobs are correct. The seven tube super-het chassis plays in a terrific fashion. Les has completed his professional repairs noting the chassis was made by RCA for G.E. He has added a mini-jack for your connection of any modern device. Listen to the radio using your phone, pad or computer and have an unlimited choice of content. Les added a fine fabric or and new Bakelite plug to mirror how the radio left the factory and for your safety. Add a Bluetooth adapter for only $25! 19"H x 14-1/4"W x 11"D.
