Western Air Patrol 136T (1935)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Western Air Patrol 136T (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is a highly unusual and scarce mantle style radio. The radio was made by Gamble-Skogmo in Los Angeles for Western Auto Stores. In the 1930's, often radios were offered for sale to customers while they waited for repairs to be made to their automobiles. Rather a captured audience and rather common done by others like General Motors. This radio is a sophisticated six-tube super-het offering four bands and a superior level of electronics. Of course most bands today are vacant, but as a broadcast receiver, it is a fine player. The cabinet is in remarkable condition for the 82+ years of service. Note the fine detailing of veneer work with book matched areas on the top. The radio has been completely serviced by my tech to perform as new. With his repairs, a mini-jack has been installed allowing your connection of any modern device. You now can choose whatever you wish to listen to using your vintage radio. Add a Bluetooth receiver add-on for only $25! 14-1/2"W x 9-1/4"H x 8"D.
