Simplex G Tombstone (1937)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Simplex G Tombstone (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is an interesting and quality tombstone from this Sandusky, Ohio factory. Known for high quality radios, this company struggled in the highly completive world and was shortly after sold to Philco. Philco promptly shuttered the factory, getting a good competitor out of the market. The radio is a dramatic player with a sophisticated seven-tube super-het chassis with a brand new tuning eye. Note the brightly lit and multicolored fan shaped dial. This radio is both an AM and Shortwave receiver as one would expect from such a good maker. The cabinet has been nicely refinished and the speaker cloth a period correct reproduction. The brand new tuning eye dances with the elevated level of sensitivity. Les has completed his professional repairs and the radio is a terrific player. He installed a mini-jack to allow your connection of modern input or add Bluetooth for only $25 additional. 16-1/4"H x 12-1/2"W x 8"D.
