Lyric SA-65 Cathedral (1931)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Lyric SA-65 Cathedral (1931)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The Lyric name might not be familiar but the same factory produced Wurlitzer products. The name of the company was All American Mohawk. Besides being of the highest quality, this particular radio offers a rather unusual look. I would describe it as an arts and crafts type of look. The radio is a cathedral form factor and being early, is an AM only receiver. The chassis is a six-tube super-het and is a fine player. The cabinet is in fine shape with a fly speck on the top of the arch. I sense it has been nicely refinished by the earlier collector with replacement speaker cloth, which is period correct, and wood knobs. My technician has given his 55+ years of expertise to return the electronics to a like new performance. His remarks were how dramatically the radio plays and the sound level is impressive through the 8-inch speaker. He has added a mini-jack for your connection to any modern device, so you can listen to your phone, pad or computer. Add a Bluetooth adapter for only $25 additional. 17-7/8"H x 13"W x 9-1/2"D.
