General Electric J-100 (1932)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

General Electric J-100 (1932)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

I have been collecting for over 45 years and refurbishing these sets for over a decade to sell online... yet never had this model before. The radio in a similar cabinet came in six, eight, and ten-tube variations and this is the granddaddy model with ten tubes! The radio is a very early super-het with a massive speaker and as you can imagine was the best of breed in this timeline. The radio cosmetics are excellent. The speaker cloth is period correct reproduction and the wood knobs original to the radio. Clearly a classic cathedral radio and its entire design resemble the fine European gothic churches. My tech has completed his professional repairs and I found the radio to be extremely robust in its reception. He has added a fine cloth covered power cord and new Bakelite plug in a duplication of the way it left the factory 87+ years ago. The radio has been fitted with a mini-jack to allow a direct connection to any modern device! AM transmitter and Bluetooth options are available starting at $25! Click here for details! Quite a find! 19-3/4"H x 15"W x 12"D.
