THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This all-metal set was originally covered with some kind of faux wood grain stuff. It is now chrome plated. I took it a step further and added a NOS appliance cord so now it resembles a 30's kitchen appliance; thus dubbed (by me) the "Toaster." The original circuit has been slightly modified strictly for safety. It plays pretty decently for a five tube (four and a ballast) TRF set. These don't have near the sensitivity or selectivity of a superhet, but it will pick up the local stations as long as you have an antenna connected. The original back has been replaced with a reproduction. The dial is very colorful and has a beautiful glow when the set is on. The set is bright and free of dents, gouges and scratches (the photos don't do it justice). The top does have some slight discoloration around the grille area. I think it was just a result of the plating process. This radio is sure to be a conversation piece, especially if you collect appliances from the 30s. Weight about ten pounds.
