THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Beautiful novelty tube radio with AM and FM. Made by the Guild Radio Co. of Inglewood, CA (a suburb of Los Angeles) about mid 20th century. Guild was one of the last radio manufacturers in LA. Once there were dozens upon dozens. This radio depicts a Victorian era secretary made into a sewing chest. The original wood knobs are thimbles and spools! The radio has been restored with all new filter capacitors and it plays loud and clear on AM and FM with its built in antenna. The green wire on back is for an optional external antenna. The finish is original I only polished it with Old English. Of all the Guild novelties, this one is pretty hard to find in good shape. Here is a rare find indeed! 14"W x 12"H x 9"D. About 12 pounds. |
