THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
Raytheon is best known for high quality tubes and commercial, mostly aerospace products. This Bakelite clock radio is a great mid century model that plays excellently and the clock works great, too. Very quiet, all functions work. The radio plays loud and clear, my guarantee applies. It had suffered from "Silver Mica migration" which has been repaired so you will never have to worry about that again (this happens to a lot of early 50's radios). Also the ballast resistor and selenium rectifier have been replaced with a 35W4 tube. Selenium rectifiers were State of the Art back then but as they become older they are not too efficient. The tube is much better. The solid brass front grille and curved top make it a very collectible piece. The cabinet is pristine, no cracks or chips. 12"W x 6"H x 5"D, about 8 pounds packed. |
