(wood tube novelty radio)

Guild TK-1577 "Teakettle" Novelty Radio (1959)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is no. three of these beauties that I have restored and offered here on the Attic. Fully functional, plays loud and clear. Includes original power supply "trivet" That charges the on board battery, new diode and new caps inside. The original carbon battery has been replaced with eight 700 mAh AA rechargeable niCd's with a thermal protector. The six transistor chassis is quite robust for a vintage solid state set. Solid maple cabinet with solid brass and porcelain. The brass has been protected with Mohawk "lacquer for brass" coating so no worries about tarnishing. Porcelain is slightly crazed as to be expected for its age. About 18 lbs packed. This would make a perfect holiday gift! 14"H (with trivet) x 10"W x 8"D.
