Fairbanks-Morse "Skyscraper" Tombstone (1935)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

Fairbanks-Morse "Skyscraper" Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This very rare "Skyscraper" Tombstone is a neat radio; it would be very difficult to find another. These models were commonly called "Skyscrapers;" this one is in none of my books, so if anyone knows the model number please let me know and I'll add to listing. When I bought it I was told that it was manufactured between model 814 and model 5312 series. It has had the filter caps replaced and has been cosmetically restored. It works very well, covering the broadcast (550-1700 KC) band and one shortwave band (6-16 MC). All tubes were tested and weak ones replaced; it has new grille cloth and chassis pics are available, just ask. This eye-catching & rare radio would be a great addition to any collection! Sides are tapered (11"W at bottom, 10"W at top), 14"H x 8"D, shipping weight 18 pounds.
