This is a wonderful example of the Grigsby-Grunow Majestic "Duo-Chief" mini-tombstone radio. It has been very nicely refinished with lacquer. The aluminum grille and dial scale/volume plate are in excellent condition, grille cloth is reproduction, knobs are wood, and it displays very well. The electronics have been restored to excellent playing condition, and it should give trouble-free service for many years. The chassis number is 440; this chassis was used in the 44, 49 and 194 models. It has four tubes: 6A7, 6F7, 6Z5 and 41. It has two bands: Broadcast from 535 to 1530 KC, and Short-Wave (old police band) from 1470 to 3500 KC. Both bands work fine. If you like compact radios, this would be a nice addition to your collection! Guarantee applies. 11"H x 8"W x 6"D.
