RCA 128 Shouldered Tombstone (1934)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

RCA 128 Shouldered Tombstone (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This classic and rare model was introduced by RCA in late 1934 for the 1934/35 model season: "Six-tube three-band (540-18,000kc) Super-Het Globe-Trotter with eight inch Dynamic speaker, Airplane dial, Dual Ratio Vernier Tuning, Band Indicator, AVC, Tone Control and 3.5 Watts output. In beautiful table-type cabinet finished in two-tone walnut." It was one of a group of luxury models new for the 1934/35 season that debuted RCA's "magic brain." This innovation was described in the advertising as "...the almost human unit that directs your radio reception just like your own brain directs your body." The cabinet was restored using nitrocellulose lacquer (any light spots are flash reflections). It plays extremely well with just a short antenna. The electronics are completely restored (see link to how I restore radios at top of my page). Chassis pics are available. Aux input cable has been added: play your favorite tunes or old time radio shows from CD player, iPod, etc. Bluetooth receiver can be added and you can stream audio from your phone, etc. 90 day warranty. 20"H x 16-3/4"W x 11-1/2"D.
