Crosley 817 "Super 8" (1938)
(suitcase tube table radio w/SW)

Crosley 817 "Super 8" (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

The Crosley model 817 "Super 8" is a three-band, AC powered superheterodyne. With eight tubes it has push-pull output, automatic volume control, and an 8-inch electro-dynamic speaker for excellent fidelity and a beautiful "mirror-dial" for tuning. The dial looks great illuminated for night use. The Bentwood style cabinet has front and side panels of highly figured quarter stripe walnut, trimmed with contrasting stump walnut bands and maple inlays. It was refinished with clear lacquer. It displays very well and is darker than the pics due to the use of flash. Chassis is very clean and pics are available, just email me. Grille cloth is a correct reproduction. A thorough restoration of the electronics was performed. As a result, it receives stations across the broadcast band and both shortwave bands. Short wire antenna is needed (supplied). Aux input cable was added so you can plug in an iPod, CD player, etc., and play audio through the radio. Add a Bluetooth receiver and use a smartphone. 90 day warranty applies. An excellent addition to any collection! 17"W x 10"H x 7"D.
