Philco 41-226 "Sled"
(wood tube table radio)

Philco 41-226 "Sled"

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Project! For sale is this Philco "Sled" or Philco "Toboggan" design masterpiece. This model was introduced by Philco Radio around 1941. The cabinet is in good condition. The Tenite escutcheon has some usual warp due to heat but it looks better than most that I've seen. A brilliant brass escutcheon surrounds the pushbuttons, which fully function. The set is a six-tube super-heterodyne and covers standard broadcast (AM) and short-wave bands. It features five push-buttons for electronic tuning, with a sixth button used for on/off. The waveband switch selects between standard-broadcast, short-wave and push-button tuning. The radio is playing on both AM and Short Wave. The set has been completely recapped. The set turns on with the far left pushbutton. The button works well but the pushbutton assembly needs to be tightened, alas the "project" label and lower price. The set weighs about 12 pounds. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance only. I'm pricing it to sell fast. 13"W x 8"H x 6-1/2"D.
