(wood tube tombstone radio)

Belmont (Freshman-Masterpiece) 401 Tombstone (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Project! This timeless tombstone features a striking two-toned mahogany wood "skyscraper" design. The set is untested. This TRF classic is missing only its 57 tube and a glass cover over its front station selector. Both are easily obtainable. An original brass plaque on the set identifies it as a "Freshman Masterpiece." I believe that the chassis was produced by Belmont and the cabinet was designed and produced by the Freshman Company. The set's tube lineup is: 57, 58, 2A5, and 80. It has its original chocolate Bakelite knobs and a newer grille cloth. The dial's rare escutcheon is made from molded Bakelite. I've never seen another. Insurance advised. Priced to sell.
