Detrola 212 (1938)
(wood tube table radio)

Detrola 212 (1938)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here we have a beautiful Detrola table radio featuring a bright green tuning eye. You do not see tuning eyes in small table radios very often, but when you do, they are quite a sight. And this one is just spectacular. The walnut cabinet is toned with gorgeous shades of dark and medium walnuts creating a sunburst like effect. A thin marquetry inlay runs across the bottom of the cabinet making for a truly elegant look. But the large gold dial with bright green tuning eye is what really grabs your attention. Both in great shape as is the dial cover showing very little signs of wear. The tuning eye is new, bright, and opens & closes as you tune in stations. Both knobs are in excellent condition and work as they should, as does a third knob on the back of the chassis for broadcast and shortwave (2.4-6.0) bands. The six tube chassis is clean and restored. This little set is quite the player! Very sensitive reception with good volume and no hum. During the restoration process two small veneer splinters were secured and blended to the right of the dial. Please email me for additional photos or inquiries. 12"W x 7-1/2"H x 6-1/4"D.
