Here is an exceptionally nice Federal regenerative receiver. The cabinet is especially nice with no de-lamination and nice original finish. The front panel is also excellent and the nickel plated parts are clean and not corroded. This is a working radio and one of the very best performing regenerative receivers. The set has variable RF amplification and really pulls in the signals; it is remarkably easy to tune compared to other regenerative sets. I would keep it except that I have a Federal 61 which is so similar as to make having both hard to justify. It works so well that I was able to pick up a station in Toronto from here in South Carolina, using a 15 ft long wire antenna! This is an unusually nice model 59! It will be well packed in foam rubber in a large box. You will need an ARBEE-III power supply and high impedance headphones or a good early horn in order to use it. |
