All-American Mohawk "Lyric" and Speaker (1928)
(wood tube casket radio)

All-American Mohawk "Lyric" and Speaker (1928)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Beautiful table-top cabinet mostly of solid walnut with inlaid trim houses a solidly built receiver that is virtually all original. Four RF stages with 26s; 27 detector; 27 driver; push-pull 71As output; 80 rectifier. Nine tubes in all. Single-dial tuning. Sensitivity and selectivity are excellent (for its time). 20"W x 14"H x 9-1/2"D. The speaker is labeled "Model 911 Ansonia Reproducer;" its box is evidently intended to accompany the receiver, but it is not an exact match. There is some exposed end-grain and the wood is not flawless. The original "reproducer" inside has been replaced by an 8" PM speaker and suitable matching transformer. 12"W x 11"H x 6"D.
