Sparton 1003 AM/FM (1948)
(wood tube table radio w/FM)

Sparton 1003 AM/FM (1948)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Originally this radio model would have been inside a two-sided "chest of drawers" cabinet. On one side of the cabinet, a record-playing turntable would slide out on a shelf which was, otherwise, concealed. The second cabinet side housed this radio which was always visible even when not in use. We have modified this radio by creating a custom Imbuia wooden cabinet. Wood artist, Hershel Weiss, designed and built this custom cabinet for the radio chassis. When this radio is playing, light comes thru all of the acrylic(?) knobs and offers a glowing presence. In regard to the radio innards, our radio repair technician checked tubes, replaced parts, re-wired volume tone, aligned IF and RF.
