National SW-54 (1951-58)
(metal communications gear w/SW)

National SW-54 (1951-58)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This National general coverage AM/SW receiver is in nice condition and works perfectly. This type of receiver was popular in the 1950s as a first receiver for a ham operator or for short wave listening. It has a built-in BFO for hearing Morse code as well as normal AM and SW stations. The coverage is 540 kHz to 31 MHz in four bands. Restoration included replacement of all electrolytic and paper capacitors, replacement of the defective couplate, a new dial window, and a better-than-factory RF/IF alignment (which included adjustment of fixed padder values for best possible dial calibration, as well as the usual trimmer adjustments). Original knobs and power cord. Lighted dial. This radio is compact, durable, and lightweight enough that shipping won't be particularly expensive. 11-1/2"W x 6-1/2"H x 7-1/2"D.
