Trav-Ler 55C44 Clock Radio (1955)
(wood tube clock radio)

Trav-Ler 55C44 Clock Radio (1955)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's a compact wooden clock radio with a gorgeous brushed brass faceplate. The mahogany cabinet still has its original finish; it's not perfect, but is certainly far too nice to refinish. The faceplate condition is excellent. The five-tube "All American Five" chassis has been restored to like-new operation, with all electrolytic and paper capacitors replaced, a strong set of tubes installed, and a full RF/IF alignment. The power cord has been replaced with a modern polarized heavy-duty cord, so you can plug something hungry for power (like your 1950s coffee percolator) into the outlet on the back and wake up to fresh brewed coffee. You'll be surprised at the good sensitivity a five-tube radio can have when well aligned. The clock works and keeps proper time. Compact and lightweight, so shipping will not be expensive. 11-1/4"W x 5-3/4"H x 6"D.
