Emerson 805B (1954)
(Bakelite tube table radio)

Emerson 805B (1954)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here is another example of Emerson's very compact five-tube radios. It's only 6-1/2 inches wide, but houses a complete All American Five chassis with a 4-inch speaker. The dark brown Bakelite cabinet is free of any chips or cracks, and has a decent original shine. Although you see many other Bakelite radios which have been clear coated to give them an artificially glossy shine, the original Bakelite surface is far more durable than any clear coat, so it will hold up much better and look better a lot longer. The chassis has had a full electrical restoration, with all new capacitors, several new resistors, both IF transformers rebuilt, and a full RF/IF alignment. A new polarized power cord has been installed, and the switch wiring has been modified to keep any voltage off the chassis or exposed screws for improved safety. This radio works like new, and you may be surprised how good the sensitivity of a well-aligned five-tube radio can be. This small and light radio will be very inexpensive to ship. 6-1/2"W x 5-1/4"H x 5"D.
