Stewart-Warner 1231 "Troubadour" (1933)
(wood tube cathedral radio)

Stewart-Warner 1231 "Troubadour" (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

This is one of my favorite mini-cathedral radios. It does not take up much space so it's easily displayed on nearly any shelf. The cabinet is simply spectacular with gorgeous veneer and a Gothic arch design. Even the dial itself is a work of art. In addition to the Troubadour, Stewart Warner produced two other small sets, the "Aristocrat" and "Cavalier." They are all rather difficult to find because collectors seldom part with them. This one has been correctly restored with the proper cabinet toner colors. A fresh electronic restoration, including a new power cord, make it a nice performer with the included wire antenna. This set weighs 12 pounds; 11-1/2"H x 9"W x 7"D.
