L-Tatro Tombstone (1964)
(wood tube tombstone radio)

L-Tatro Tombstone (1964)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

It's difficult to adequately describe this exceptionally uncommon radio. First, it was manufactured by L'Tatro Products in Decorah, Iowa, which is an unlikely site for a small electronics maker in the early 1930's. Second, most L'Tatro radios were battery powered for use in rural areas without electricity so finding an AC version is truly remarkable. Third, the cabinet design is like no other you'll ever find. Name one radio where the sides are perhaps more eye catching than the front of the set! The side panels scream Art Deco and gives a very regal appearance. The front features a small and uniquely marked dial along with beautiful book matched veneers with decorative inlays. A prior owner restored the electronics and it plays very well. There's no known model number and I've never been able to find any evidence of another example on the Internet or in my private library of radio documentation. You're more likely to win the lottery than to find this unique radio so grab it while it's still available. This set weighs 28 pounds; 18-1/4"H x 18-1/4"W x 10-1/2"D.
