Westinghouse WR-27 (1933)
(wood tube table radio)

Westinghouse WR-27 (1933)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

A very nice looking mantle sized set with a subtle Art Deco accent and a quite conservative look at that. As radio's technology changed, along with the depression era economics, a lot of folks just didn't have the money to buy the bigger expensive tombstone sets and this smaller, less expensive radio fit their needs perfectly. It didn't take a lot out or their bank account or take up a lot of space due to its size. It would even fit on their fireplace mantel. Sitting on their mantle, they could listen to President Roosevelt's evening radio addresses deemed as Fireside Chats. Westinghouse did quite a nice job on the cabinet design and I believe hit their mark with the public on this set. Its chassis and cabinet have been restored and plays well for a set of this era. I believe you'll love it. 10-1/8"W x 7-1/8"H x 6-1/4"D.
