Sonora Radio (1935)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Sonora Radio (1935)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Every once in a while you come across a really unusual find and this Sonora fits that category perfectly. It is an highly uncommon model and even after hours of research, I can only determine the year of manufacture, but not the model. Well, that is OK, as it's just plain drop-dead gorgeous with its curves, colorful reverse painted dial, gold background and black accents. Lots of Art Deco influence here for sure. Think the dial is pretty in the pictures? You ought to see it in a dark room: just superb. It is quite uncommon for a wood radio to have retained its back through the years, but this one somehow stayed with the radio. This Sonora has both the AM broadcast band and a shortwave band, though the AM broadcast is much more active. The cabinet has been very carefully restored using the finest wood fillers, stains and lacquers, bringing out the wonderful rich colors. The electronics have been restored to ensure your enjoyable listening pleasure for a long time to come. 13"W x 8-1/4"H x 6"D.
