Detrola, a Detroit based radio manufacturer, was well known for their beautifully designed cabinets and wonderful sounding radios. The dial is immense, colorful and is detailed with the "clear channel" stations. Tonal quality is adjustable and this set has plenty of volume through its oversized speaker. The green eye tube is quite bright and sensitive, helping to make this Detrola the focal point of any room. This lovely cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous finish. Amazingly, somehow this radio retained its original wooden back, which was also refinished. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety), and it plays very nicely on the AM and shortwave bands. 18"W x 12"H x 9"D.
