Zenith 5-S-127 Tombstone (1937)
(wood tube tombstone radio w/SW)

Zenith 5-S-127 Tombstone (1937)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Introduced in Zenith's 1936 Fall model lineup, this beautifully designed cabinet with its rounded finned shoulders and burl walnut veneer patterns was quite a big hit with the public. Everyone loved the big black backlit dial with the white "Z" airplane style pointer and red split-second pointer. It is a wonderful performing radio, having three bands (AM broadcast and two short wave bands – A, B & C thus 540kc – 19mhz) and a wonderful sound. New period correct grille cloth, original wooded "Z" knobs, new rubber chassis mounts, tuner mounts and dial belt. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous look. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs and it is internally fused for your safety), and it plays very nicely on the AM broadcast and shortwave bands. I have added a MP3 input so you may listen to your own supplied music if you wish. Whether this would be your first Zenith Black Dial or you are a Zenith collector, this will certainly compliment anyone's collection. A suitable Bluetooth receiver may be added for an additional $35. 18-3/4"H x 13-1/2"W x 9-1/4"D.
