Stratford Radio (1934)
(wood tube table radio)

Stratford Radio (1934)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Offered for the first time on The Attic, a heavily influenced Art Deco styled Stratford, likely a private brand, that was manufactured by the famous Chicago based RPC (Radio Products Company). Loaded with style and has more ribs than a BBQ joint! Though a TRF set, I'm amazed how many stations it picks up, as these sets were mainly intended for inner city reception, usually in a bedroom or kitchen, close to the radio transmitters. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, plus attention was given to several previous veneer repairs. Very nice looking for being 84 years old. The set retains its original knobs and correct period specific grille cloth installed. In addition, I manufactured a nice cardboard back for the rear. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on the AM broadcast band. 10-1/4"W x 7-1/4"H x 5-1/4"D.
