Simplex "D" AM/SW (1936)
(wood tube table radio w/SW)

Simplex "D" AM/SW (1936)

THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD!

Here's a drop-dead gorgeous piece of amazing "eye candy" with all the Art Deco influence most could ever want. You likely recognize it from Mark Stein's book, "Machine Age to Jet Age." The multicolored dual backlit dial with the sailing ship is so beautiful in a dimly lit room, as is the beautiful mesmerizing magic green tuning eye. This particular Simplex model is quite difficult to fine and I believe this is just the second time one has been offered for sale here on The Attic. Refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous luster. The set retains its original knobs and grille cloth. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on both the AM and shortwave bands, and it plays very nicely on both the AM band. I have added an MP3 input so you may listen to your own supplied music if you wish. 15-1/2"W x 8-3/4"H x 5-1/2"D.
