THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
The Howard brand, known as a high-quality manufacturer, is quite esteemed among collectors. The 256 is one of their most beautiful models in the 1937 lineup and today one of the very hardest to find. Not often found with their original knobs, but we got lucky on this one. It has period correct replacement grille cloth, which accents its beautiful reverse painted gold back lit dial. The cabinet has been refinished using the very finest toning and finishing lacquers, producing a gorgeous satin luster, paying homage to the original detailed finish. The electronics have been completely restored (no shortcut repairs, internally fused for your safety and has a new polarized power cord), and it plays very nicely on both the AM and shortwave band. As with all the radios I offer that require an external antenna for reception, it is included. 13-1/4"W x 8-3/4"H x 6-3/4"D. |
