THIS RADIO HAS BEEN SOLD! |
How this west coast radio got to the east coast is anyone's guess, but here it is. The dial shows numerous west coast stations. It is a six-tube set, including the tuning eye tube. This model was introduced in 1939. Here is what is right with it: electronically restored, it works well, the Bakelite bezels are excellent (no cracks or breaks), the wood looks really good, the back is original, the loop antenna is intact, and the dial cover is new. There have been cosmetic issues too: someone before me had stripped the cabinet, did not realize the cross-banding was plastic and ruined it. I replaced that with wood veneer and refinished it all. This person had also replaced a short strip of veneer on the upper rear surface. The tuning knob does not match the other knobs, but since I photographed it, I found a correct band switch knob. 16"W x 10"H x 8"D; shipping weight about 25 pounds. |
